The 56th Semaine Olympique de Hyères – Toulon Provence Méditerranée (SOF, France’s Olympic sailing week) will officially get under way with the opening ceremony at 18:00.
The opening ceremony will take place in the event village in the presence of Ed Russo, Treasurer of the French sailing federation (FFV), Francis Roux, Deputy Director of sport for the city of Hyères, Vice-President of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée area and Vice-President of the Var region, Arnaud Latil, Mayor of Carqueiranne and Vice-President of the Toulon Provence Méditerranée area, François de Canson, Vice-President in charge of economic development, attractions, tourism, and major risk prevention; Lieutenant Fabien Schaeffer, Commanding Officer of the 54th Artillery Regiment; and Laurent Labeaune, President of Var region’s Olympic and Sports committee.
For the public attending the opening ceremony, it will also be an opportunity to see some Olympic medallists from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games competing at the SOF.

• Grae Morris – Australia – silver in windsurfing (iQFOiL)
• Pavlos Kontides – Cyprus – silver in single-handed Dinghy (ILCA 7)
• Maximilian Maeder – Singapore – bronze in kitefoil (Formula Kite)
The first races will start tomorrow, Monday, April 21, at 11:00 (CET).
More than 800 athletes representing 55 nations will be competing on the waters of Hyères in this 56th edition.
